This '78 El was originally restored as a "driver" by a friend whom previously owned it but was brought up to my picky standards:
My good friend Chris and I took numerous hours to straighten, paint and wet sand the custom mixed Autumn Maple Metallic to show quality. There were numerous flaws we straightened out.
Another good friend located all new OEM lower two tone trim direct from GM. It didn't stop there, I spent numerous hours sanding and polishing the stainless steel that encircles around the entire bed. Then I replaced both bumpers with show quality new ones.
The tonneau was engineered and fabracated by me. I wanted a "flush mount tonneau" no one makes. I spent hours making cardboard and paper templates. Then I transferred my templates to two 4' by 8' sheets of plywood seemed in the middle with 2" by 4" braces and custom brackets. I wrapped the plywood with 1/4" high density foam and tonneau vinyl.
The interior features a custom upholstered '79 Grand Prix bench seat with a folding arm rest incase I pick up an extra female passenger

The steering wheel is a custom ordered Le Carra thanks to my friend David!
Under the hood I detailed to a "stock look" but found a early 80's Camaro chrome air cleaner lid sets it off tastefully. Flowmaster exhaust makes the 305 sound aggressive.
Finally a custom drop with my favorite 18" chrome American Racing Irocs wrapped in Falcons bought from my friends at Mr. P's completes my '78.
