This is my first fullsize, first V-8, first automatic and first fullsize that I lowered. I started with a 5" front and rear drop, cut stock springs and 2.5" dropped spindles and a DJM flip kit. I drove it that way for a year and a half. I had been getting AirRide tech's catalog for a while and one night in a fit of insanity I logged onto their website and ordered their complete front Strong Arm kit for the 73-87s and their universal 4 bar for the rear. For the supply I got the BigRed 2 way valves 1 Viar 450 compressor and a 5 gallon tank. I made a lot of mistakes with that setup. No check valves, one compressor and only front and rear height control. Now with a blown up compressor I'm trying to decide btween an engine driven compressor or 2 Viars. I also want to move the tank to behind the axle, before everything was on the frame rail under the cab. The compressor was LOUD, and when it quit working I almost couldnt access the lines to hook up my shop compressor. The valves are now under the hood and I have check valves so my truck will be at the same height it was when I parked it.
